Defense High Level Waste

The GA Defense High Level Waste (DHLW) shipping cask is a legal weight truck cask designed to transport the DOE HLW canisters.  For transport to the repository at Yucca Mountain, this cask could be used to provide truck transport for the HLW and adapted (through reconfiguration of the removable shield liner) for some of the DOE-owned  spent nuclear fuels.  The DHLW cask has been subjected to regulatory testing, which demonstrated that the cask can be licensed and fabricated for transport of DOE-owned radioactive waste forms to the repository.
